Did you know Walt Disney World has 2 water parks? No many people realize that there are 2 of them that can be included in your vacation package. There is Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach. Both have very unique theming and offer something for every member of your party. During this particular trip, only one water park, Typhoon Lagoon, was open. This has typically been the case since they have reopened. When booking, ask for the Park Hopper Plus option to add to your tickets. This options gives the best flexibility in your vacation. When you add the water parks on to your tickets, you can enter them as many days as you have booked. So if you book a 4 day water park ticket, you get 4 days in the theme parks, and 4 entries into any of the water parks, mini golf, golf, or other sports activities. Ask your travel planner for more details.

We arrived at the water park around 1:30 pm after a great morning at Hollywood Studios. We had to take a bus from our resort to Disney Springs and then get on another bus to Typhoon Lagoon. We used our Magicbands to scan into the park and then headed towards the lockers. We rented a large locker for $15 for the entire day. This was a great option to keep valuables safe. Then we headed to get our towels. As a resort guest, we got free towel rentals. Then it was time to set up camp, or get a chair or two.

At this point there weren’t many chairs left over but we found one, dropped off our shoes and towels, then headed right to the wave pool. There are lift jackets for littles you can borrow or bring your own. The wave pool is VERY intense. I would not recommend going deep with littles. But there is a little section off to the left for the littles to go down some slides and just play in the water.

Typhoon Lagoon has seven water slide rides, one kiddie slide, one child play area, and a lazy river. My family and I explored several of the slides and thought they were great. Nothing too exciting but great. We did not do the coaster one as the line was a little long. The lazy river is very long and relaxing. Our favorite was the family slide. This one can fit up to 4 guests inside and winds and bends to a big splash. We did this slide a few times.

Now we needed to find some snacks. This was a little challenging. We walked around for what felt like forever to find something to just snack on. Finally found a pretzel stand that we ordered a pretzel filled with cream cheese and should have ordered more of those. We did order the mini donuts at the entrance that were AMAZING!! Highly recommend. We do wish we would have packed some snacks and drinks with us for a shorter visit. Not knowing that finding a snack would have been that difficult, having things packed already would have been great.

Overall, we like the water park and would go again. We would do things a little different. I do recommend getting there early to grab a good seat. I would also pack snacks to save money and save the hangry feelings. I would also pack a waterproof lanyard for phones and water shoes for walking, the sidewalks get hot. Having our stuck in the lockers was hard when we all got separated. My first impressions were great for the water parks, but I would be more prepared next time.
