In the words of Walt Disney himself, “Disneyland will never be completed. It will continue to grow as long as there is imagination left in the world.” And a growth spurt is on the way! At the recent D23 parks panel, Disney Experiences Chairman Josh D’Amaro announced a slew of exciting new projects coming not just to Disneyland, but to Disney parks around the globe. From major expansions of beloved attractions to brand-new experiences, there’s something for everyone in the Disney family to look forward to. Let’s take a timeline view of the new projects announced for our US parks!

Disneyland

  • Following its opening at Walt Disney World earlier this year, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will open November 15, 2024 at Disneyland park in the newly renamed Bayou Country.
  • “Walt Disney: A Magical Life” will debut in 2025 at the Main Street Opera House at Disneyland, featuring the first ever Walt Disney audio animatronic figure.
  • At Disney California Adventure, Avengers Campus will double in size with the addition of two new attractions – Avengers Infinity Defense and Stark Flight Lab. Construction begins in 2025!
  • An all-new attraction themed to Pixar’s “Coco” is coming to Disney California Adventure. Construction is slated to begin in 2026.
  • Disney California Adventure will also be home to a brand-new Avatar-themed destination, inspired by “Avatar: The Way of Water” and upcoming Avatar films.

Walt Disney World

  • A brand-new nighttime parade, “Disney Starlight,” will light up the night as characters from beloved movies make their way through Magic Kingdom next summer!
  • Cheers to two, new lounges opening in 2025 at Walt Disney World! A Spaceship Earth-themed lounge in Epcot, and a Pirates of the Caribbean-themed tavern in Magic Kingdom.
  • Buckle-up for a reimagined Test Track racing into Epcotin 2025.
  • A brand-new Monsters Inc. land at Hollywood Studioswill feature a roller-coaster ride through the Monsters, Inc. factory – the first-ever suspended roller coaster at a Disney park! Construction begins next year.
  • Favorite characters from “Cars” will make their home in Frontierland in Magic Kingdom with two, new attractions. Construction begins in 2025!
  • Construction will begin soon on a Villains-themed land at Magic Kingdom! This new land will be home to our favorite villains, as well as two major attractions, dining, and shopping!
  • A brand-new show, “Zootopia: Better Zoogether” is coming to The Tree of Life Theater in Animal Kingdomand is scheduled to open next winter.
  • A brand-new story featuring Mando and Grogu is coming to Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run at Hollywood Studios in 2026.
  • DinoLand at Animal Kingdom will be reimagined as Tropical Americas, featuring an Indiana Jones attraction, an “Encanto-themed ride-through attraction, a carousel, and dining. Construction begins this fall, and an opening date is expected in 2027.

We are incredibly excited about the new projects coming to Disneyland and Walt Disney World in the next few years.
